Via Hvandeker heb ik een aantal blogs leren kennen vandaag vanuit Palestina. Deze geven een tekenend beeld over de horror die daar plaats heeft.
Enkele extracten die me raakten :
1. Getuigen Hope Man ( een Israëli ) en Peace Man ( een Palestijn ), 2 " vrienden " maar uit een verschillend " kamp". Op : http://gaza-sderot.blogspot.com
Israel is claiming that most of the Palestinians killed are Hamas and the Palestinians claim that most are civilians. Does it really matter??? Children, women and elderly were killed. This is the tragedy we were fearing. War is blind. Inocent alway are killed and to the mother or child the count has no significance.
I hear the helicopters and planes in a short distance and lot's of machine gun shooting.
I spoke to my friend Peace man and he told me that things are very very bad in Gaza. People are becoming filled with hatred and militant groups that have until now not been part of the hostile actions, have joined the fighting.
2. Getuige Laila-El-Haddad, een Palestijnse moeder en journaliste in Gaza : Op http://a-mother-from-gaza.blogspot.com
We celebrated Yousuf's fourth birthday today. We ate cake. And we counted the bodies. We sang happy birthday. And my mother sobbed. We watched the fighter jets roar voraciously on our television screen, pounding street after street; then heard a train screech outside, and shuddered. Yousuf tore open his presents, and asked my mother to make a paper zanana, a drone, for him with origami; And we were torn open from the inside, engulfed by a feeling of impotence and helplessness; fear and anger and grief; despondence and confusion.
"We are dying like chickens" said Yassine last night as we contemplated the media's coverage of the events of the past few days.
3. Getuige Moma-el-Farra, dokter en vrouwenrechtenactiviste, op haar blog " From Gaza, with Love " ; op : http://fromgaza.blogspot.com
Here is the outcome of the Israeli military operation against Gaza , 117 killed 350 and more injured. These numbers are preliminary, as the emergency teams were only allowed to evacuate tens of injured and some dead this morning. Some who were lying in the citrus orchards of Jabalia town , east of Gaza city. The majority of the dead and injured are civilians, many suffered serious injuries. In some cases the casualties were of the same family and many children were killed .
4. Of het verhaal van Heba, een 29-jarige nog studerende moeder uit Gazastad op : http://contemplating-from-gaza.blogspot.com
We parked the car yesterday. Of course we did. It is a thing regularly done by people who drive cars but in Gaza, it gained a whole new meaning. When you say “I parked the car”, it means you ran out of fuel and can no longer use your car. Fuel quantities, which were supplied to Gaza on a daily basis, are now supplied with half quantities once a week. So what’s supplied weekly is half of what was supplied daily!! This means that whenever fuel is in , which is the top asked question now, people rush to fuel stations , half of whom are generally lucky to get some filled in their tanks. And those who can not, can get some filled manually brought in plastic containers, and those who can neither fill directly from the station nor get a gallon filled manually, like us, park their cars.
